Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) Network-based Intrusion Prevention (NIPS) The Protection for Windows Enterprise Edition software is a Host-based Intrusion Prevention system for Microsoft Windows laptops, desktops and servers which automatically protects against known and unknown threats, hackers, malware and inappropriate desktop activity.
